Explain This to Me...

Okay, first off, I'd like to apologize to anyone out there who is an Obama fan...I've just got to get this off my chest.
I need someone to explain to me how someone can run for the President of the United States having OPENLY ADMITTED to committing a felony! Although he was never convicted, Barack Obama openly admits to previously being a cocaine addict. This is a felony! How is it that someone can commit a crime against the country and still be able to run for the President of that same country? I just don't understand. Secondly, has anyone looked at his close associations? He has an admitted terrorist and an American hater as close friends. William Ayers in 1969 co-founded the radical left organization the Weather Underground, which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s He is a terrorist and friend to someone who is campaigning to run our Country! Reverend Jeremiah Wright was Barack's preacher for 20 years! Go to youtube and type in his name. You won't believe the things he says about this country! He talks about blacks still being suppressed by whites, and rich white men run this country and that is why it is so corrupt. He says, essentially, that America is an awful, racist country and it needs to be run by blacks. Barack listened to this talk for 20 years?! How could any decent person listen to such talk? Let alone listening for 20 years! I'm telling you. Look him up and you will be shocked! Are these the ideals and morals that we want in the White House? I would think not.
Thirdly, an old radio talk show that had Barack Obama on it several years ago has just beed discovered. He makes several outrageous statments which are as follows:
He says that when the Civil War was over and Blacks first got rights, that the Supreme Court should have REDISTRIBUTED WEALTH!!!! WHAT?!?! Do you know what that entails?? That means he thinks it is okay to take someone's hard earned money and giving it to someone else! When is that EVER okay?!?!? Can you imagine if he thinks that about the Civil War times what he thinks about redistribution of wealth now? This is outrageous! This completely unethical statement was made by the man that may be the next President of our country! Do you realize the possibilities of this? That means that my hard earned money could be taken from me and given to someone who doesn't have a job or worse, isn't trying to get a job. If people are going to get free money, they are going to stop working!!! If anyone were to get free money they wouldn't want to work. This would result in a SERIOUS dip in the economy with so many people not working. Our economy is on a downhill anyway, and this would completely destroy the economy! Not to mention it is STEALING! The federal government would be getting into your wallet and stealing your money to give to other people! This is NOT okay! In the radio broadcast he also says that he thinks that when our Founding Fathers made the Constitution, it didn't go far enough to protect minorities. What? First of all, the constitution covers all people no matter the race. I don't care if you're black, blue, pink, or brown; everyone is represented in the constitution. Secondly, what do you think this statement is suggesting? He doesn't believe in the Constitution of the United States AND he thinks that it needs to be fixed! This is unbelivable! I certainly don't want someone in office who is going to take my money and give it to someone else, and someone who feels that the Constitution isn't the basis of our beliefs in this country.
Fourthly, he is proposing to give 95% of Americans a tax break. Has anyone been listening to what he is saying? First of all, this is IMPOSSIBLE! Almost half of the country doesn't pay taxes!! So, to say that 95% of Americans can get a tax break is a blatant LIE! Second off, has anyone heard about all of the programs that he wants to put into place. I'll just list 2 of the many he has promised the country. He wants national health care. I can't tell you all of the problems that this program presents. He wants to make health care free to all Americans. Okay, so who is going to pay for it? US! The money just doesn't come from no where. To make government programs, the taxes have to be raised to pay for it. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT JUST TOOK ON TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN DEBT! Think what this would do to the economy! This would also cause abuse of the health care system. Anything free is abused. I'm sure all of you have seen this. Anything that you spend you hard earned money on is taken care of and prized. Think of the first car you bought, or the first pair of shoes you bought for yourself. I'm sure they were prized, now think of the gifts that were bought by someone else. The thought is, "well, it wasn't my money so..." . I'm not saying everyone is like this; however, MOST people are like this. When it is free it is abused because it's not their money they have to worry about. So, we're going to be paying for people to go to the ER with a paper cut thinking they need stiches. So, we're going to be paying for abuse of the system. Not to mention, this will cause doctors to be paid less money because the federal government won't want to be paying for a doctor's salary. So, when the doctors get paid less money, there are going to be less people willing to be doctors, and as a result the quality in health care will decrease. Look what has happened to teachers. They certainly don't get paid enough, and the quality of education in this country has decreased. The few good teachers out there must really love their profession. These are the people who are educating everyone in the nation. They are the reason anyone has jobs or any sense of intellegence, and they get an outrageous pay. Can you imagine if this unfortunate fact boiled over to the medical community? Would you want someone doing heart surgery on you if they really didn't want to be there, or didn't really know what they were doing? The results could be astronomical! The other program is free higher education. This goes by the same concept. Someone who is getting free education is going to abuse it. I'm sure many of you have seen the difference between those who paid their own tuition and those whose parents paid their tuition. I'm not saying that EVERYONE is this way, again, just MOST people are this way. So, we're going to be paying for people to abuse the educational system. This is also a big deal to teachers as well. I do know that most teachers usually vote democrat; however, if they were to realize what this could do to the educational system, I think they would think twice about it this time around. As previously stated, teachers don't make enough money, certainly not as much as they deserve. This would only add to the problem! So, all of this would result in us paying HIGHER taxes to pay for lower quality in health care and education AND abuse of both the health care and educational systems. He KNOWS that these programs increase taxes. When we first found out about Fannie May and Freddy Mac needing a bail out, he came out and was talking about the economy. He said that HE MIGHT HAVE TO DELAY SOME OF THE PROGRAMS BECAUSE OF THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY!!! That means that he knows that these are going to cost a lot of money and that money has to come from taxes and finally that HIGH TAXES ARE BAD FOR THE ECONOMY! So, every time he tells the American people that he is going to decrease taxes, he is LYING!!! He knows what is going on and feels okay lying to the people he may lead! Outrageous...
Lastly, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I do not believe in abortion except in cases of rape and incest, in which, the mother needs to have a choice. This is the standing of the Church on this matter. I also do no support same-sex marriage. I certainly do not discriminate against those who chose this path, but I don't believe it is right. Barack Obama is for both gay marriage and abortion. In 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed. From 1973 through 2005, more than 45 million legal abortions occurred. 45 million babies were murdered in 32 years! That is about 1.5 million babies per year. Not to mention, that he also believes in fetal stem cell reasearch. To explain what this does in laman terms it means that scientists grow babies and kill them for their stem cell to do research. I've done extensive research on stem cells, and this is not the only answer. Did you know that adults have stem cells as well? They are harder to work with then fetal stem cells because they are already specialized. For example: a foot stem cell must always be a foot stem cell. But, this means that it is POSSIBLE to do stem cell research from adults and NOT TAKE LIFE! So, just to add to the approximate 1.5 million babies per year, he wants to add MILLIONS and MILLIONS more for research, when it is UNNECESSARY! The same-sex marriage is nothing new. I believe that it desecrates the sanctity of marriage. That is all that needs to be said on that matter.
I honestly can't think of even ONE good reason to vote for Obama. I don't think that he will do anything good for this country. This isn't even half of what I feel on the matter, and if you are still at a loss at who to vote for please let me know and I will fill you in. I think people need to be aware of what is actually going on outside of the mainstream media - which, by the way says nothing bad about Obama ever. I think that some people are looking at Obama at face value, and not really analyzing what he is saying. He is an incredible orator, but so was Hitler. He made everything look wonderful in the eyes of the German people. Have any of you read Hitler's speeches? You would never think that this man caused a 6 million person genecide. I'm not saying that Obama is capable of a genecide, but I am saying that words can be deceiving. Just because someone says something doesn't make it true. Obama is very good at not mentioning the bad results and making you focus on the good things - a manipulator. He is very good at it. I think people need to analyze what he is saying. He is a sayer not a doer.
All in all, this means that Barack Obama is a liar, and, I believe, a bad person. I really think that he is a bad person who only wants control and personal gain. Now, I'm not saying that McCain is a super awesome choice, but I would rather vote for someone who loves their country and is an honest, good person.

I realize one of your first comments was to not be offended/an apology, but I must be frank, I was very offended by some of the things you said. We could argue politics for hours, I am sure of it. But In this response I am not going to talk about different ideas on how the country should run, I am only going to mention a few things that I believe were wrong and even immoral for you to say.

To start, Bill Ayers, he was a part of an organization in 1969 that blew up a statue to show their anger towards the government. They did this in 1969, when Obama was 8 years old. Later, Obama and Ayers worked on the same school board in Chicago. That is the only connection between those two men. Obama condemned what Ayers did and any attempt to try and connect Obama to Ayers past life is ridiculous.

Your Civil War Comment,
In that interview, Obama was speaking directly about the slaves, and their owners. Do you honestly think that any one of those slave owners deserved a penny of that "hard earned money?" The same money that they earned because of slavery? The way America treated African Americans after slavery was just as horrendous as it was when they were slaves. To think that those plantation owners deserved any of that money is morally wrong. He was saying the plantation owners should not have been able to keep all of the riches that they had gained because of slavery. Obama was not talking about turning America into a communist country; he was talking about America doing the right thing.

Next, I want to talk about Obama and his Experimentation with drugs.
Admittance, Repentance, Forgiveness.
Being an LDS member, you should know that anybody who has truly repented of what they have done, and tried to atone for what they did, should receive forgiveness. No person is perfect and Obama had a troubled youth. He admitted what he had done, he had tried drugs, and he was sorry he did, he was never addicted. In his political career Obama has done countless acts to help keep kids away from drugs, because he knows first hand what it can do to mess up a child’s life. On a side note President Bush continues to commit a felony every day by using wire taps without warrants, but nobody seems to care about that.

Something else I want to talk about is this comment you made.
“He doesn’t believe in the Constitution of the United States AND he thinks that it needs to be fixed!”
He never even remotely said that he did not support the constitution; he said he didn’t think it did enough. If we use the same logic that you used, many of the founding fathers don’t “believe” in the constitution, after all, they went right ahead and decided they needed to change it. They did so by adding the Bill of Rights/first 10 Amendments to the constitution. An amendment is an addition, something that is added to the constitution with the belief that it did not go into enough detail or that it did not do enough.
Our constitution is a living document, a document that, in its original form, only served white male property owners. We needed amendments to the constitution before it eventually protected minorities. Amendments that gave black people the right to be free, gave black people the right to vote, and gave women the right to vote. It wasn’t until the Civil Rights acts that minorities truly started to be protected by our government.

I am not writing this to convince you to vote for Obama, I can see that you disagree with him for many other reasons. I am writing this to make a point of some of the things you said that I strongly disagree with. If you disagree with anything I have said, please comment again, I am very interested to hear your opinion after you have heard mine.

Well, for starters, it wouldn't matter to me if you did tell me who you are. I'm not going to argue, just as you did not argue. No need to worry, and thank you for not attacking me as a person. I've been getting that and I really appreciate that you just shared your views with me instead of trying to beat me down with a hammer with no evidence or belief on anything.
So, my response to William Ayers. Most importnant is that William Ayers is a known terrorist to both sides of the political spectrum. I know that any good, logical person would not associate themselves with a known terrorist, let alone work on projects with them. Obama did state on several occasions, including some interviews, that he has worked with William Ayers on educational projects. Although Ayers crimes were committed when Obama was young, that is beside the point. He is willing to associate himself with people who have been involved in terrorist actions against the United States. I would not want someone in office who is willing to compermise by associating themselves with terrorists.

With reguards to the Civil War; never once did I say that slave owners deserved the money that they got. I am saying it is morally wrong to take money from people and give it to someone else, no matter the circumstance. I really hope that you don't believe that it would have been okay for the government to take money from slave owners and give it to slaves. There are millions of people in this world who have a lot of money that I would classify as "not deserving it". Look at drug dealers. I certainly think that they don't deserve to get millions of dollars to ruin people's lives; however, I certainly don't believe it would be okay for the federal government to steal their money and pass it around. Look at even Bill Gates. He stole technological information from Steve Jobbs, creater of apple, behind his back and has made billions! The founding fathers believed in small government. That is the reason why they established checks and balances because they didn't want one branch of the government gaining too much control. They definately did not believe in stealing other people's money whether they deserve it or not. And, on that note, who is to say who is "deserving"? This is a relative term, and can't possibly be used to delegate who the government can steal from or who they cannot. The real morality problem is with the government getting into the people's pockets and taking what isn't theirs to take. By the way, redistributing wealth is not a Communist value. Redistributing wealth occurs in a Socialist society. I didn't say that this is definately what would happen, but if he thinks it's okay for the government to steal people's money - no matter the circumstance - this is certainly a possiblity of what can happen.

The part about Obama and drugs isn't directed at the fact that Obama has been on drugs before, it was that he has committed a crime against the country - although, I will talk about the drug use. I certainly believe in forgiveness, that is a silly statement. But do you think someone who has killed a person or who has plotted against the country should be able to run for president? These are considered a felony along with things like laundering money. A felony is defined as a crime against the country, and Obama has stated that he was an addict. And even if he had just "experimented" with cocaine, taking it at ANY amount is considered a felony. Taking cocaine is a felony, crime against the country, and I'm just saying I don't think it should be okay for a person to commit a felony and run for the President of the United States. Now, with drug use, I'm in the medical field and deal with drug abusers daily, whether it's will legal or illegal drugs. Do you know the statistics of relapse for cocaine abusers? 80%. 80% of people who abuse cocaine have relapse at least once. Most doctors believe that it is unreasonable for people to expect an abuser not to relapse. This wasn't the point; however, it is interesting to note. I don't now what you're talking about with illegal wire transfers; however, this is irrelevant to my case. George Bush is not running for president. Even if this were true it wouldn't matter in this case because he hadn't committed a felony when he was running for the president. I'm saying that the people running for president shouldn't have committed crimes against the country, reguardless.

The part about the Constitution. You just proved my point. If you don't think that the constitution went far enough, you don't believe in it. ALL of the founding fathers believed in the constitution. That is why it was established as a political document for our country. If they didn't, it would have been written. They believed it to be truth. It's not that they didn't believe in it or it didn't go far enough. Circumstances change over time, and this is why it is a living document. However, to say that the founding fathers didn't go far enough with the Constitution is an outrageous statement. The circumstances now are FAR different than what they were then. They weren't worried about abortion and same-sex marriage and slave rights. To say that they should have done this is silly. Now, with the belief that I think he doesn't believe in the Constitution. By saying it doesn't go far enough, he is saying that he thinks there is something that needs to be fixed. This is a VERY serious accusation of which NO ONE has asked him what he thinks in the Constitution needs to be fixed. If he thinks that it needs to be fixed and it doesn't go far enough specifically for minorities, he doesn't believe in what it says. He wants it fixed. Period.
Obviously, I'm not writing to get you to vote against Obama - as you weren't trying to convince me. And, I'm not upset at all by what you had to say. It's nice to know that I have a relative on my husband's side that knows a little about politics, now how much, I don't know. But, I hardly have any relatives who care about politics, and it's nice to know I have some now. To be honest my biggest reason for not voting for Obama, besides the fact that he has many socialist values, is his moral stance. He believes in abortion, same-sex marriage, and embryonic stem-cell research. I will NEVER vote for anyone who believes in any of these desecrating practices. Moral standing is MUCH more important to me than economical standings - even though those are important. I can't ever support the killing of children. Abortion kills a baby, as we all know. And, I don't know how much you know about embryonic stem-cell research, but it is unneccesarry. Researchers have recently overcome the obsticles of using adult stem- cells. So, now adult stem-cells are just as easy to use as fetal ones. This is why no one has heard anything about stem-cell research in the election this year. It is because it is available through adults just as easily, and without killing them. Now, Obama supports growing embryos and killing them for research. This is abortion in mass quantities. Unbelievable. Same-sex marriage desecrates as to what the family is defined. This is Satan's strongest attempt to ruin God's most sacred unit. I can never, and will never support anyone who believes that this is okay. My moral standing always comes first.
I really do appreciate your input. Thanks again for not attacking me.

I feel much the same way and now that he has been elected it's really scary! There definatly will be CHANGE coming to the country but I don't think it's the change the country was planning on, or the change he promoted.
