Serious Need for an UPDATE!

JULY
1. We went to the Alba family reunion, which was really fun! Everyone was so nice, and Joel and I really enjoyed the water fight...wait until next year...we'll get you all soaked! Here are some fun pictures.

2. Soon after, we went to my suegros on the 24th of July. This was fun as well...Tia Popa and Tio Jerry, we're sorry for attacking you with such LARGE amounts of water. They brought out a water slide for the little kids, and it ended up being for the adults apparently.

3. Poor Joel couldn't come with me to this next event, but it was so awesome that it definately needs to be included in the update list. My family and I went to the American Idol concert! When David Archuletta got on stage, I have never EVER heard such a loud, long, incredible applause in my life!! He did well, of course, Brooke did really well. She sang a version of Coldplay's "Yellow", and that was really cool. Syesha sang a version of "Listen" by Beyonce, and I was suprised at how well she did! I LOVE that song, and I thought she was going to slaughter it, but I was plesantly suprised. David Cook was good, even though he shouldn't have won, I did enjoy his performance. Of course, my favorite did amazing. I think I took about 170 pictures at the concert, and over half was for Jason Castro.

4. Joel and I went with my family to the Oakley, UT rodeo, and it was a blast! I love the rodeo!! The bronco riding is my favorite :D

5. Joel and I went to the Batman movie on opening night and decided to dress up a little bit ;)

AUGUST

1. Joel and I went to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. We saw "Taming of the Shrew", "Two Gentlemen of Verona", "Cyrano De Bergerac", and "Fiddler on the Roof". Now, I know you're all thinking that the last two aren't Shakespeare plays. Well, I know. They only choose a handful of them to do every season and the rest are just famous plays. However, it was very fun and the plays were wonderful!

2. So, I'm a fan of the Twilight Series. I started reading them when I got sick and had a lot of time on my hands this summer and I really liked them. So, I decided to go to the book opening of the 4th book, "Breaking Dawn". Well, I went and got in line at 7:30am at Barnes and Noble to get a wristband to get a book and the store didn't open until 9. I thought I was going to be pretty early, but no. There were about 100 people in front of me! The lady who was first in line got there at 4am and stayed the night!! I made an interesting discovery...people who read these books are CRAZED FANATICS!!! The lady next to me in line had made a book of pictures from the movie coming out. It was extensive!! It was about 50 pages LAMINATED and BOUND! She was about 45 years old! The first lady in line was about the same age! Then I discovered the concept of a TWILIGHT MOM. This is a very broad generalization, but these women are nuts! I'm sorry if any of you are twilight moms, but I'm sure you're not the ones I'm talking about. They are so obsessed! They talk about these book as though it were a life and death story. These women have young children and they talk about taking weeks doing nothing but reading this book! They talk about neglecting children and dinners and dishes and laundry because they are so obsessed! The theme for the party that night was prom or nice dresses. Some older women wore their WEDDING DRESSES!! These people are nuts...but it was fun and I did like the book - not my favorite one, but I still liked it. Joel was kind enough to come with me.
Pics of the line at 9:15 am: all the way around target...

3. My tuition for grad school is really really expensive, and wen knew we wouldn't been taking a vacation for a long time. So, Joel and I decided to go to Disneyland for 3 days! I love Disneyland! It is the best place in the whole wide world! We had so so much fun! If anyone is going soon, the new Toy Story ride is AWESOME! The line is always long because they don't have Fast Passes for it yet, but it is well worth the wait!

4. While we were at Disneyland, I made reservations for us to go to ESPN Zone under my name. Well, when we got there the host got kinda fidgety and told us that they only had the green room or the back of the restaurant available. So, Joel and I thought that the restaurant was going to be full and we were going to have to be seated in a crappy place. As we go to get seated, the restaurant is empty...they take us to a side room with leather couches and our own TV. The host thought it was really JESSICA ALBA! So, Joel and I got to eat in one of the VIP rooms! Here is a video of the room and some pictures. :D

This is the husband speaking.

5. We have received the 4th season of The Office. Mind you, Dwight Schrute should be the hero of all little children everywhere. He is my hero, and should be yours also.

6. Cheese was created ..... somewhere.

7. One of my co-workers thought that it would be funny to create a Blog about me. I have choosen not to post the webpage due to the fact that 90 % of the facts on the blog are false. Mainly, the fact is that he thinks I look like Ernie from Seseame Street.

8. Jessica started Grad School. Which, mind you, is quite awsome. We will have a Dr. Alba in 3 years.

9. I dreamt of giant spiders singing poor renditions of John Lennon songs. Man can you imagine an 8 legged beast singing I am the Walrus? Weird. just weird.

My dearest friends, my wife and I are so very sorry for the neglagence that we have had in updating you in our personal lives please do not be upset, we do love each one of you like a toothache. We really do I promise! Here are some words of wisdom from the great mind of mine.

EAT CHEESE

Thank you,

The Famous Joel Albas
