Explain This to Me...

Okay, first off, I'd like to apologize to anyone out there who is an Obama fan...I've just got to get this off my chest.
I need someone to explain to me how someone can run for the President of the United States having OPENLY ADMITTED to committing a felony! Although he was never convicted, Barack Obama openly admits to previously being a cocaine addict. This is a felony! How is it that someone can commit a crime against the country and still be able to run for the President of that same country? I just don't understand. Secondly, has anyone looked at his close associations? He has an admitted terrorist and an American hater as close friends. William Ayers in 1969 co-founded the radical left organization the Weather Underground, which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s He is a terrorist and friend to someone who is campaigning to run our Country! Reverend Jeremiah Wright was Barack's preacher for 20 years! Go to youtube and type in his name. You won't believe the things he says about this country! He talks about blacks still being suppressed by whites, and rich white men run this country and that is why it is so corrupt. He says, essentially, that America is an awful, racist country and it needs to be run by blacks. Barack listened to this talk for 20 years?! How could any decent person listen to such talk? Let alone listening for 20 years! I'm telling you. Look him up and you will be shocked! Are these the ideals and morals that we want in the White House? I would think not.
Thirdly, an old radio talk show that had Barack Obama on it several years ago has just beed discovered. He makes several outrageous statments which are as follows:
He says that when the Civil War was over and Blacks first got rights, that the Supreme Court should have REDISTRIBUTED WEALTH!!!! WHAT?!?! Do you know what that entails?? That means he thinks it is okay to take someone's hard earned money and giving it to someone else! When is that EVER okay?!?!? Can you imagine if he thinks that about the Civil War times what he thinks about redistribution of wealth now? This is outrageous! This completely unethical statement was made by the man that may be the next President of our country! Do you realize the possibilities of this? That means that my hard earned money could be taken from me and given to someone who doesn't have a job or worse, isn't trying to get a job. If people are going to get free money, they are going to stop working!!! If anyone were to get free money they wouldn't want to work. This would result in a SERIOUS dip in the economy with so many people not working. Our economy is on a downhill anyway, and this would completely destroy the economy! Not to mention it is STEALING! The federal government would be getting into your wallet and stealing your money to give to other people! This is NOT okay! In the radio broadcast he also says that he thinks that when our Founding Fathers made the Constitution, it didn't go far enough to protect minorities. What? First of all, the constitution covers all people no matter the race. I don't care if you're black, blue, pink, or brown; everyone is represented in the constitution. Secondly, what do you think this statement is suggesting? He doesn't believe in the Constitution of the United States AND he thinks that it needs to be fixed! This is unbelivable! I certainly don't want someone in office who is going to take my money and give it to someone else, and someone who feels that the Constitution isn't the basis of our beliefs in this country.
Fourthly, he is proposing to give 95% of Americans a tax break. Has anyone been listening to what he is saying? First of all, this is IMPOSSIBLE! Almost half of the country doesn't pay taxes!! So, to say that 95% of Americans can get a tax break is a blatant LIE! Second off, has anyone heard about all of the programs that he wants to put into place. I'll just list 2 of the many he has promised the country. He wants national health care. I can't tell you all of the problems that this program presents. He wants to make health care free to all Americans. Okay, so who is going to pay for it? US! The money just doesn't come from no where. To make government programs, the taxes have to be raised to pay for it. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT JUST TOOK ON TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN DEBT! Think what this would do to the economy! This would also cause abuse of the health care system. Anything free is abused. I'm sure all of you have seen this. Anything that you spend you hard earned money on is taken care of and prized. Think of the first car you bought, or the first pair of shoes you bought for yourself. I'm sure they were prized, now think of the gifts that were bought by someone else. The thought is, "well, it wasn't my money so..." . I'm not saying everyone is like this; however, MOST people are like this. When it is free it is abused because it's not their money they have to worry about. So, we're going to be paying for people to go to the ER with a paper cut thinking they need stiches. So, we're going to be paying for abuse of the system. Not to mention, this will cause doctors to be paid less money because the federal government won't want to be paying for a doctor's salary. So, when the doctors get paid less money, there are going to be less people willing to be doctors, and as a result the quality in health care will decrease. Look what has happened to teachers. They certainly don't get paid enough, and the quality of education in this country has decreased. The few good teachers out there must really love their profession. These are the people who are educating everyone in the nation. They are the reason anyone has jobs or any sense of intellegence, and they get an outrageous pay. Can you imagine if this unfortunate fact boiled over to the medical community? Would you want someone doing heart surgery on you if they really didn't want to be there, or didn't really know what they were doing? The results could be astronomical! The other program is free higher education. This goes by the same concept. Someone who is getting free education is going to abuse it. I'm sure many of you have seen the difference between those who paid their own tuition and those whose parents paid their tuition. I'm not saying that EVERYONE is this way, again, just MOST people are this way. So, we're going to be paying for people to abuse the educational system. This is also a big deal to teachers as well. I do know that most teachers usually vote democrat; however, if they were to realize what this could do to the educational system, I think they would think twice about it this time around. As previously stated, teachers don't make enough money, certainly not as much as they deserve. This would only add to the problem! So, all of this would result in us paying HIGHER taxes to pay for lower quality in health care and education AND abuse of both the health care and educational systems. He KNOWS that these programs increase taxes. When we first found out about Fannie May and Freddy Mac needing a bail out, he came out and was talking about the economy. He said that HE MIGHT HAVE TO DELAY SOME OF THE PROGRAMS BECAUSE OF THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY!!! That means that he knows that these are going to cost a lot of money and that money has to come from taxes and finally that HIGH TAXES ARE BAD FOR THE ECONOMY! So, every time he tells the American people that he is going to decrease taxes, he is LYING!!! He knows what is going on and feels okay lying to the people he may lead! Outrageous...
Lastly, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I do not believe in abortion except in cases of rape and incest, in which, the mother needs to have a choice. This is the standing of the Church on this matter. I also do no support same-sex marriage. I certainly do not discriminate against those who chose this path, but I don't believe it is right. Barack Obama is for both gay marriage and abortion. In 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed. From 1973 through 2005, more than 45 million legal abortions occurred. 45 million babies were murdered in 32 years! That is about 1.5 million babies per year. Not to mention, that he also believes in fetal stem cell reasearch. To explain what this does in laman terms it means that scientists grow babies and kill them for their stem cell to do research. I've done extensive research on stem cells, and this is not the only answer. Did you know that adults have stem cells as well? They are harder to work with then fetal stem cells because they are already specialized. For example: a foot stem cell must always be a foot stem cell. But, this means that it is POSSIBLE to do stem cell research from adults and NOT TAKE LIFE! So, just to add to the approximate 1.5 million babies per year, he wants to add MILLIONS and MILLIONS more for research, when it is UNNECESSARY! The same-sex marriage is nothing new. I believe that it desecrates the sanctity of marriage. That is all that needs to be said on that matter.
I honestly can't think of even ONE good reason to vote for Obama. I don't think that he will do anything good for this country. This isn't even half of what I feel on the matter, and if you are still at a loss at who to vote for please let me know and I will fill you in. I think people need to be aware of what is actually going on outside of the mainstream media - which, by the way says nothing bad about Obama ever. I think that some people are looking at Obama at face value, and not really analyzing what he is saying. He is an incredible orator, but so was Hitler. He made everything look wonderful in the eyes of the German people. Have any of you read Hitler's speeches? You would never think that this man caused a 6 million person genecide. I'm not saying that Obama is capable of a genecide, but I am saying that words can be deceiving. Just because someone says something doesn't make it true. Obama is very good at not mentioning the bad results and making you focus on the good things - a manipulator. He is very good at it. I think people need to analyze what he is saying. He is a sayer not a doer.
All in all, this means that Barack Obama is a liar, and, I believe, a bad person. I really think that he is a bad person who only wants control and personal gain. Now, I'm not saying that McCain is a super awesome choice, but I would rather vote for someone who loves their country and is an honest, good person.

Good Weekend

Well, I passed my test on Friday. For those of you who don't know, here's how my tests work. I have classes that are usually taken over a semester taken in 2 weeks. So, every other week I have a final. A 90% is passing rate, if you don't pass the friday test, then you come back on Monday to take it again. If you don't pass on Monday, you come back in the summer to take it again. If you don't pass in the summer...you're out. So, needless to say, school is super stressful. I go to school from 8 - 3 and then study from then until about 9 or 9:30 then go to bed and do the same thing the next day. GRAD SCHOOL IS SO HARD!
So, because I passed my test on Friday, I had a three day weekend - if you pass Friday test, you don't have to come the next Monday because that's the day for retesting. Joel and I went to Spencer's lacrosse games in Draper, and they were awesome! I love lacrosse! I've decided this is my new favorite sport. Everyone gets to be a star. You get to wear a cool helmet like football, it's really fast - paced like basketball, it's hard to score like soccer, and you can beat people up! It is the best sport ever. And, I must say, that Spencer is pretty good. He plays goalie, and still gets to hit people...so cool.
On Saturday, I had dance practice with my team in Heber. So, Joel and I went to Heber for the morning, and then went with my cousins to this place called Dairy Keen. They had really good shakes! I was very happy :) We then went to visit my cute little cousin Carson and my Uncle Shane in Kamas for a few hours. This was followed by some ping pong and serious guitar hero. Joel and I went to walmart to get Indiana Jones and a roast for dinner on Sunday.
On Sunday, Joel and I made Sopes. They were wonderful! My family loves them, even though my Suegra is cute and says that most white people don't like real Mexican food :) Then, Joel and I and Mike and his girlfriend Shaundra went to temple square and watched the Joseph Smith movie. It was good, like always. We again went to my parents and played ping pong and guitar hero and went to bed.
Yesterday, Joel had work so I went to IHOP with my dad and Spencer. It was so good! I love IHOP! Then Spencer and I went to Boondocks to play some video games - we won 800 tickets! I was able to get some cool red fuzzy dice! YES! Then I looked through some of my Spanish grammar cards for a few hours...and then Joel came over and we all went to go and pick up my mom and sister from the airport. They were in DC with some friends there. We talked, had pizza, and went home.
It was a great weekend! Joel and I got to spend a lot of time together! It was wonderful :)

Princess

Well, I recently purchased Sleeping Beauty, which is my favorite disney princess movie. So, I've been having Disney mania lately, and ironically Paige put this on her blog and I thought it was cute. It's got to be true... ;)

Happy Birthday!

Today it is my sister Lila's Birthday! So, let me tell a few reasons why Joel and I love and respect Lila.

1. She is dedicated.

If she wants to do something, she is dedicated 110%! With everything in her life, and anything she is asked to do.

2. She is dependable.

We can always count on Lila to come through, even when it's hard.

3. She is fun to be with.

She is great to play games with and have discussions with. She always participates keeps people happy! *Joel and I want to play Mario Kart with her and John again*

4. She has a strong testimony.

We love listening to Lila teach about the Gospel and share her testimony.

5. She is a wonderful mother.

I love to watch her raise her beautiful daughter! She seems to always know what to say and do in the best interest of her child. I hope that when I have children I can be as wonderful as she is as a mother.

Well Lila, we love you and hope that you have an amazing birthday! You deserve the best!

Serious Need for an UPDATE!

JULY
1. We went to the Alba family reunion, which was really fun! Everyone was so nice, and Joel and I really enjoyed the water fight...wait until next year...we'll get you all soaked! Here are some fun pictures.

2. Soon after, we went to my suegros on the 24th of July. This was fun as well...Tia Popa and Tio Jerry, we're sorry for attacking you with such LARGE amounts of water. They brought out a water slide for the little kids, and it ended up being for the adults apparently.

3. Poor Joel couldn't come with me to this next event, but it was so awesome that it definately needs to be included in the update list. My family and I went to the American Idol concert! When David Archuletta got on stage, I have never EVER heard such a loud, long, incredible applause in my life!! He did well, of course, Brooke did really well. She sang a version of Coldplay's "Yellow", and that was really cool. Syesha sang a version of "Listen" by Beyonce, and I was suprised at how well she did! I LOVE that song, and I thought she was going to slaughter it, but I was plesantly suprised. David Cook was good, even though he shouldn't have won, I did enjoy his performance. Of course, my favorite did amazing. I think I took about 170 pictures at the concert, and over half was for Jason Castro.

4. Joel and I went with my family to the Oakley, UT rodeo, and it was a blast! I love the rodeo!! The bronco riding is my favorite :D

5. Joel and I went to the Batman movie on opening night and decided to dress up a little bit ;)

AUGUST

1. Joel and I went to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. We saw "Taming of the Shrew", "Two Gentlemen of Verona", "Cyrano De Bergerac", and "Fiddler on the Roof". Now, I know you're all thinking that the last two aren't Shakespeare plays. Well, I know. They only choose a handful of them to do every season and the rest are just famous plays. However, it was very fun and the plays were wonderful!

2. So, I'm a fan of the Twilight Series. I started reading them when I got sick and had a lot of time on my hands this summer and I really liked them. So, I decided to go to the book opening of the 4th book, "Breaking Dawn". Well, I went and got in line at 7:30am at Barnes and Noble to get a wristband to get a book and the store didn't open until 9. I thought I was going to be pretty early, but no. There were about 100 people in front of me! The lady who was first in line got there at 4am and stayed the night!! I made an interesting discovery...people who read these books are CRAZED FANATICS!!! The lady next to me in line had made a book of pictures from the movie coming out. It was extensive!! It was about 50 pages LAMINATED and BOUND! She was about 45 years old! The first lady in line was about the same age! Then I discovered the concept of a TWILIGHT MOM. This is a very broad generalization, but these women are nuts! I'm sorry if any of you are twilight moms, but I'm sure you're not the ones I'm talking about. They are so obsessed! They talk about these book as though it were a life and death story. These women have young children and they talk about taking weeks doing nothing but reading this book! They talk about neglecting children and dinners and dishes and laundry because they are so obsessed! The theme for the party that night was prom or nice dresses. Some older women wore their WEDDING DRESSES!! These people are nuts...but it was fun and I did like the book - not my favorite one, but I still liked it. Joel was kind enough to come with me.
Pics of the line at 9:15 am: all the way around target...

3. My tuition for grad school is really really expensive, and wen knew we wouldn't been taking a vacation for a long time. So, Joel and I decided to go to Disneyland for 3 days! I love Disneyland! It is the best place in the whole wide world! We had so so much fun! If anyone is going soon, the new Toy Story ride is AWESOME! The line is always long because they don't have Fast Passes for it yet, but it is well worth the wait!

4. While we were at Disneyland, I made reservations for us to go to ESPN Zone under my name. Well, when we got there the host got kinda fidgety and told us that they only had the green room or the back of the restaurant available. So, Joel and I thought that the restaurant was going to be full and we were going to have to be seated in a crappy place. As we go to get seated, the restaurant is empty...they take us to a side room with leather couches and our own TV. The host thought it was really JESSICA ALBA! So, Joel and I got to eat in one of the VIP rooms! Here is a video of the room and some pictures. :D

This is the husband speaking.

5. We have received the 4th season of The Office. Mind you, Dwight Schrute should be the hero of all little children everywhere. He is my hero, and should be yours also.

6. Cheese was created ..... somewhere.

7. One of my co-workers thought that it would be funny to create a Blog about me. I have choosen not to post the webpage due to the fact that 90 % of the facts on the blog are false. Mainly, the fact is that he thinks I look like Ernie from Seseame Street.

8. Jessica started Grad School. Which, mind you, is quite awsome. We will have a Dr. Alba in 3 years.

9. I dreamt of giant spiders singing poor renditions of John Lennon songs. Man can you imagine an 8 legged beast singing I am the Walrus? Weird. just weird.

My dearest friends, my wife and I are so very sorry for the neglagence that we have had in updating you in our personal lives please do not be upset, we do love each one of you like a toothache. We really do I promise! Here are some words of wisdom from the great mind of mine.
