Guess it's been a while. Oh well. Since I have last posted, I have had a baby...if you know us then you know this fact by now. I didn't really tell people about being prenant. I was really nervous about anything happening. But here is her story.
My little Luna Jean came into this world on November 2, 2012. I woke up with contractions at 2am (not knowing they were contractions). I had already gone to the bathroom 5 times and it still looked dark outside so I asked Joel what time it was and he said 2. WHAT?! I had gone to bed at 10. Then it hit me. Contraction. I had no contractions or braxton hicks my entire pregnancy so that was a shock. I immediately got into the tub to see if they would subside. No luck. So, we started to time them. By the time they had been going to an hour of 1 minute long and 2 minutes apart, I decided it was time to go to the hospital.
I checked in and got all hooked up with an epidural by 430. Everything was going well, and then my epidural stopped working on my right side. The anesthesiologist came in to adjust the catheter, but that didn't really do anything. Oh well. My left leg was so dead that I literally couldn't move it and I had full pain on the right. By the end, I was gripping the bed rails. The nurse came in and wanted to do some trial pushes to prep me for delivery. I pushed once and she yelled for me to stop pushing and baby alba was ready to come! Doc showed up, and 30 minutes and two pushes later, out came our little girl. To be honest it should have been 1 push but her hair got stuck so the doc had to cut off a chunk at the bottom for her to get out smoothly.
She was and still is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I was so overwhelmed with love and emotion. She still amazes me every day. I have a few pictures of every month of her life thus far. She looks like dad. Period. No mom. She is such a happy baby too. Nothing bothers her. The only time she gets fussy is when she is tired or hungry. Always smiling and laughing. She has been sleeping through the night since she was about 2 months. She is such a joy in our lives, and brings so much spirit and life into our home. I love my Luna Jean.
